New projects:

Living and Dying, directed by Jon Keeyes is the latest film going through our tour-de-force crew here with David Rosenblad & John Dufilho doing music, Jeremiah Clifton in charge of sfx & too many gunshots, and Kevin D. Brown heading up the dialog and mix department. Mixed in Dolby Digital, we finished the printmastering at Todd AO west in May.

Veritas: Prince of Truth: A wonderful kid's film directed by Arturo Ruiz-Esparza and stars Sean Patrick Flanery, Kate Walsh, and Amy Jo Johnson, is another project that we've been doing the sound design and complete audio post for. Moving between live action and animation, it is one of the most technically adventurous projects that we've had the pleasure of working on.

Fat Girls: A hilarious comedy directed by Ash Christian, which we recently posted as well, played several successful screenings at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Dallas Women's Foundation PSA was scored by DR in late May. View it here.

"Margo Jones: Sweet Tornado" for which we provided sound design and post audio, was produced by KERA-TV in Dallas and aired nationally on PBS stations in March & April. Its very engaging format combines a theatrical represention of Jones' pioneering life and works with tradtional documentary elements. The show stars Judith Ivey, Richard Thomas and is narrated by Marcia Gay Harden.

Archived news:

For KERA 90.1 public radio, in celebration of their 30th anniversary, we (sound) designed a whole campaign of Sound Signature montage spots sonically describing various sounds of North Texas. Here's a sample spot.

Other Notable Projects:

Remaking "I Get Around": In the spring of 2004, we cranked up the guitar amps and were banging the drumkit pretty heavy for a cool remake of the Beachboys song "I Get Around". The song was produced and arranged by David (Rosenblad) and performed quite incredibly by The Deathray Davies' main dudes John Dufilho and Jason Garner. Why? TV and radio spots for Universal's Wet n' Wild park in Orlando. We actually did the whole song too. Listen to it here!

"True Music": A weekly event has been the HDnet series "True Music", a show featuring national and regional (Texas) acts. Offshoots of this include special concerts of featured acts. We just completed 5.1 mixes of shows of performances by Lisa Loeb and Dick Dale. Another HDnet offering is "Gilley's: Behind the Bull" which features country acts and is being mixed in 5.1 surround.

JFK: We did the sound design and post for the APT/PBS documentary"JFK: Breaking the News" produced by KERA-TV which aired in November 2003.

"A Promise Kept", starring Sean Patrick Flannery, Joey Lauren Adams, and Mimi Rogers, with all sound post and sound design done by David R, Kevin D. Brown and Jeremiah Clifton.

"Hallow's End": the latest horror offering from Jon Keeyes (now available at your local Blockbuster) with DRM providing the music score and a generous helping of weird sound design for sure, as well as all audio post of course.

"Surburban Nightmare ": (which is getting rave reviews), another film from Jon Keeyes that just hit the stores.

Additional projects include: More TV and radio spots for Wet n Wild, MalibuSpeedzone, Comcast,Raging Waters, The Cash Store, Boomers, Arrowhead Water and others. We have also worked on a gigantic mixing project for Hal Leonard & McGraw Hill produced by WOW Entertainment and jazz CD offerings from Julie Bonk's tunes. Hear a sample (go to the soundz page for it and other aural and visual clips).
